Myrina

Myrina port at night

Myrina is the capital of Limnos, located on the southwest coast of the island. The Venetian castle which dominates over the port is open to visitors and provides beautiful panoramic views of the town, especially at night when everything is illuminated.

The central area of Myrina stretches below the castle, between the old port and the beach of Romeikos Gialos. It has a pedestrian only section with small shops and cafes, as well as plenty of restaurants at the seafront. The old port is used for small boats and in the evenings it attracts visitors with the benches by the sea and the couple of traditional tavernas.

Myrina has three beaches, all sandy and with shallow water. The larger Romeikos Gialos and Richa Nera have more facilities, and Nea Maditos is smaller but it has nice view toward the old port.
