Agios Ioannis Kaspakas

Giant mushroom rock

Agios Ioannis is a beach on the west coast of Limnos, with a rich choice of seasonal hotels. It is named after the church of Agios Ioannis which is next to the sea, and the word Kaspakas comes from the nearby village of Kaspakas which is 1.5 km away from the sea.

Agios Ioannis Kaspakas consists of two long narrow beach strips, separated by a rocky promontory. Some parts of the beaches are covered with fine soft sand, others are pebbled but the sea bottom is very shallow. There are two beach bars functioning in the summer and one seafront taverna.
